When I was little, my mother worked at a radio station. She sold radio ads and wrote, produced and starred in her own copy. I was on the air a lot, when she needed a kids voice or whatever.

When she worked there, the station received a series of tapes (yeah, it was that long ago) of old radio programs. There was one called "The Inner Sanctum"- a pretty famous show, as far as I can tell- that I remember listening to a bunch. Same episode but I loved it. It had this great line about red heads that I've always wanted to use in a Batman universe fic, regarding Barbara Gordon.

I lost the tape at some point and wasn't sure how to get a hold of the episode, PLUS I wasn't sure the title of the program.

Luck was with me a few weeks ago. I was playing around on iTunes and they had a classic radio program as one of their recommended podcasts. I started searching and found out that Inner Sanctum was actually available. I played around with a few of the programs and viola! I found my episode!

It's called "Murder Comes At Midnight". It's radio acting from the 40's and the music is a bit cheesy but the story is good and the protagonist is pretty hard core for a 40's gal. I like her.

The quote that I was searching for is as follows and yeah, it's Babs Gordon:

Hee! I love it! I remember listening to this with my dad- he has a thing for red heads, I guess- and he made a comment about how true that was. I always wanted red hair myself, if only because my natural blond got me all the dumb blond jokes but red hair apparently gets you associated with danger and trouble. Which I much prefer to be thought of as an idiot. :)

Anyway, anyone who has access to iTunes and is even remotely interested, the show is free and it is available for listening through the iTunes site or you can download it and play it on your iPod.
