Everyone needs to read this.

This is not a light, fun article. It deals with the Holocaust and the recent kerfuffle in Harry Potter fandom.

I am suggesting reading this because the women who wrote it is amazing. It is the story of a woman who was told a story by her mother and was reminded of that story after this past weekend (the HP thing).

She attempted to research the story that she knew to be true but ran into serious issues proving what she knew.

She discusses history as a living thing, tells the story that her mother told her and discusses her research methods and confusion about why she can't prove what she knows.

There are amazing resources in the comments, regarding other places that she could have looked and other means of finding out the information that she was seeking.

The comments are very positive and supportive of the writer, there are no arguments by Holocaust deniers- I know that many of you are sensitive to this issue and because I feel so strongly that this post should be read, I wanted to make sure that you knew that I wasn't setting you up to be ambushed or attacked.
