your own hero
Many of you are probably already familiar with this site already, but I recently discovered Daily Lit.

This site has access to a number of public domain novels and collections, like Pride and Prejudice and Tale of Two Cities plus a few Tom Swift novels and so on. They cut up the books into chunks and e-mail you a section every day. You can read these classic novels, for free, a bit at a time.

I’m reading a bunch right now. Each part is sent at a specific time, so over the course of the day I get new sections of a different novel.

If you decide that you want to read the next section right away, there is a link at the bottom of the e-mail that you can click and it will send the next one immediately.

I’ve wanted to read Don Quixote for a long time but the book is very long and very dense. So, I’m working through it a piece at a time and enjoying it so far.

I put this up so that if you, like me, have kept from reading these classic books because you did not want to buy them or could not get through them before the library due date, this may be the perfect solution for you. I certainly enjoy it and recommend the service highly.
