OMG. I love Chad Michael Murray. I love him. This story is amazing. SO SO FUNNY. You all must read it.

ALSO. My good friend Christy Finn has started an awesome new project, which I would love to point you all towards. Let me give you all some context.

There is a new website called TextNovel. The idea is to write novels in very short chapters, roughly 500 words. They are running a contest right now for romantic stories of at least 6000 words or 20 chapters, with the idea that the winner will get published.

A blurb from their site: "Textnovel is a social network for authors and readers of serial fiction and the first English language cell phone novel website, allowing members to write and read fiction with their cellphones or computers, using text messaging, email and online tools. Textnovel runs contests for fiction writers, allowing them to demonstrate the market potential of their work through its unique serial publication and voting format. Textnovel.com was founded by Stan Soper, who offers literary agency services to aspiring writers."

This is really awesome. They're looking at stories that get reader attention, that get votes and that have a positive and strong reaction from people who read the genre. Now, I know that romance gets a lot of flack but there are some strong writers, some amazing stories and some awesome characters that end up in these tales and it would suck to miss out on that due to genre bias. *ahem*

Christy's novel is a romance, kind of chick lit-y but I have to tell you, her voice is AMAZING. Funny and honest, she writes the kind of woman that you know, that you might be, that you might WANT to be. Christy is also a HUGE hockey fan and she knows her stuff (you can check out her hockey blog here)- her hero is a hot, hot, HOT hockey player that I am already in love with and we're only on part 4.
